Geneseo vs. Rock Island

The Leafs placed second in their home opener against Rock?Island and Morrison at Maple Bluff Course Aug. 25.

Rock Island won the match with a 153, followed by Geneseo with a 162 and Morrison with a 197.

Alec Cheek led the Leaf squad, shooting a 38 for the course. Mark?Converse finished the day with a 40, while Taylor Mighell carded a 41. Drew Humphrey shot a 43, followed by Matt Dragolovich and Logan Farber each with 46s.

A second Geneseo team competed at Maple Bluff as well and ended with a combined score of 185.

Leading that team was Brandon Stebbins with a 44. Dugan Kuffel shot a 45 and Rich Snell at 47. Daniel Stetter and Calvin Lillion both shot 49s and Jorden Etter a 61.

Geneseo vs. Sterling

It was a battle to the end between Geneseo and Sterling Aug. 20 at Emerald Hills with the Golden Warriors prevailing with a one stroke victory over the Leafs, 168-169.

Converse was the medalist for the match, shooting a 39.

Cheek added a 42 for the par 35 course, followed by Mighell and Dragolovich each with 44s. Stetter finished with a 47, while Stebbins carded a 51 for the day.

The JV emerged with a victory 183-208 over Sterling.

Lillion earned medalist honors with a 42.

Farber recorded a 45 for the course, while Humphrey carded a 46. Kuffel and Snell each posted 50s, while Etter finished with a 52.

The JV improves to 5-0 on the season.

The Leafs (3-2 overall) will next host the Geneseo Invitational at 8 a.m. Aug. 29 at Maple Bluff Golf Course.
