Susan A. Wade, 60, of Geneseo, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at her home. Funeral services celebrating her life were held Thursday, Jan. 21, at Vandemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Geneseo. The Rev. Lou Zuck officiated. Private inurnment will be in the Riverside?Cemetery, Prophetstown. Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the funeral home. Per her request cremation rites were accorded following the services. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo.

She was born March 9, 1949, in Sterling, the daughter of David and Ruth (Brown) Mickley. She was a graduate of Prophetstown High School and earned her bachelor’s degree at Marycrest School of Nursing, Davenport, Iowa. She married Clarence “Randy” Wade September 1994, in Geneseo. She had been employed as a registered nurse at CGH, Morrison Hospital, Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo, and also at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo. She collected Longaberger baskets and loved cooking, gardening and canning. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Wade; her mother, Ruth Mickley of Prophetstown; a son and spouse, Carl “Tyke” and Julie Hackbarth, Jr. of Sterling; two grandchildren, Carlynn and Brinley Hackbarth; two sisters and spouses, Joan and Leo Rienstra of Polo and Karen and Steve Gilbert of Polo; three brothers and spouses, Ron and Ginny Mickley of Prophetstown, Joe and Jackie Mickley of Geneseo, and Kevin and Marsha Mickley of Viola; several nieces and nephews; three stepdaughters and spouses, Sheri and Stanley Greenwood of Crel, Sue and Dan Alexander of Geneseo and Randee Wade of Geneseo, and numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father.
