Donald Clyde Lippelt, 79, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at his home. Born December 27, 1930, to Herman and Inga Lippelt, who are now deceased. He had one sister, Alice O’Hara, who is now deceased, and several nieces and nephew. He graduated from United Township High School in 1948. He farmed for over 50 years raising cattle and hogs until retirement in 2008. He was a longtime member of the Farm Bureau and longtime member of the First Congregational Church. In his spare time he enjoyed time spent with his wife of 58 years, his three kids and six grandchildren, gardening, hunting, fishing, pets, reading and most of all farming.

Memorial services were held Sunday, Feb. 21, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Geneseo. The Rev. Bruce Bergthold officiated. Visitation was held prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home. Per his requests cremation rites were accorded following the service. Private inurnment was at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the First Congregational Church, Geneseo.

Immediate survivors are his wife, Marlene; a son, Chris; daughters, Lorraine Pope (Rick), and Carol Berger (James); six grandchildren, Adrianne Pope, Natalie Pope, Jimmy Berger, Amanda Berger, Sara Berger, Ethan Berger, and a nephew and nieces.
