Hermina M. Lindell, 86, of Moline, died Feb. 21, 2010, at Trinity West Medical Center, Rock Island. Celebration of Life memorial services were held Thursday, Feb. 25, in the chapel at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service. A luncheon followed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.


Hermina M. Lindell, 86, of Moline, died Feb. 21, 2010, at Trinity West Medical Center, Rock Island. She was born April 14, 1923, the daughter of Camiel and Marie (Hermans) Verheye in Waterlandkerkje, Zeeland, Netherlands. She immigrated to the United States in the company of her parents in September 1924. She married Chester Flood in 1940. He is deceased. She married Leonard Lindell in August 1965. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. She loved traveling, especially to her country of birth where she visited her many relatives, touring much of southern Europe with them. In later years, taking a cruise became her favorite way to travel, relax and enjoy various destinations with her favorites being the Caribbean and Hawaii. She had a unique gift for growing flowers. Hosting parties for her friends and family was something she truly enjoyed and her ability to bake and cook made these occasions very special. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and western movies. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard Lindell; a son and spouse, Ron and Pat Flood of Orion; a brother and spouse, Robert and Beverly Verheye of Geneseo; a sister and spouse, Loretta and Kenneth Baze of Geneseo; grandchildren and spouses, Scott and Lori Flood of Cambridge, Lori and Jon Pohl of Moline, and Chris and Doug Nelson of Moline; great-grandchildren and spouses, Kristen and Matt Mulder, Kaila and Bryce Hemphill, Nicholas Flood, Jenny Mortensen, Michael Pohl, Breann Nelson, Nathan Mortensen, Jeremy Pohl, and Skylar Flood; great-great-grandchildren, Dominic Mulder and Owyn Mulder, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Bernice Hyatt.
