  • Forrest E. “Timber” Peterson, 76, of Cambridge, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Cambridge Fire Department or the Cambridge Ambulance Service.
    He was born Sept. 16, 1934, in rural Orion, the son of Wilbur and Elizabeth (Harsha) Peterson. He graduated from Orion High School in 1952. He married Kae Patterson in 1955. They later divorced. He worked for John Deere and later drove semi trucks for different companies in the area. He was of the United Presbyterian faith.
    Survivors include a sister and spouse, Betty and Mike Drefchinski of Geneseo; a brother-in-law, Bill Thompson; two nieces; three nephews and spouses; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; a great-great-niece, and special friends and caregivers, Mary and Bryan McSparin of Cambridge. A special thank you goes to Larry Atwell and other friends at Fieldcrest Village, Cambridge, for the help they gave. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Thompson.
