Donna J. Gustafson, 81, of Annawan, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus, Silvis. Funeral services celebrating her life were held Saturday, May 14, at the Annawan Community United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dan Wright officiated. Burial was in Hooppole Cemetery. Visitation was held Friday, May 13, at Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd., Atkinson. Memorials may be made to the Donna Gustafson Memorial Fund.

She was born Sept. 5, 1929, in Kankakee, the daughter of William and Harriet (Green) Nicholson. She graduated from Wethersfield High School, Kewanee. She married Harold M. Gustafson Oct. 10, 1948, in Kewanee. She had been employed at the Boyd Casket Company, Prophetstown, for many years, from which she retired. She was a member of Annawan Community United Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching her birds, playing cards, watching the Chicago Cubs, and traveling. She loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Harold; two daughters and spouse, Debra Gustafson of Annawan, and Dawn and David Croegaert of Ogden; two sons and spouses, James and Mary Clair Gustafson of Atkinson and William “Boo” and Robin Gustafson of Annawan; three grandchildren and spouse, Heather Gustafson, Tony Gustafson and Amy and Mark Phillips; five great-grandchildren, Jamie Gustafson, Cody Phillips, Cameron Phillips, Castin Gustafson and Connor Gustafson; and a sister and spouse, Lois and Michael Vigor of Kewanee. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, and a sister.
