Student-athletes receive All-Academic team honors

Officials at Geneseo High School have announced the 2011-12 Winter All-Academic and honorable mention teams for the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference.

To earn All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must hold at grade-point average of 3.50 to 4.99. To receive honorable mention recognition, a student-athlete must hold at 3.00 to 3.49 GPA.

Receiving All-Academic honors are:

Boys’ basketball: Landon Hoon, Jordan Starkey and Nathan Yager.

Girls’ basketball: Emily?Ford, Rachel Ganson and Kaci-ann Storm.

Cheerleading: Emily Diehl, Margaret Schlindwein and Hannah Sheley.

Gymnastics: Paige Gatter and Hannah?Sheley.

Maplettes: Gabriella Cooney, Emma Evans-Peck, Taylor Heppner, Brittany Mielke, Alanna Rumler, Madeline VanDaele and Paige Yarger.

Wrestling: Jacob Koster and Jacob Stimes.

Those earning honorable mention recognition are:

Boys’ basketball: Alec Cheek, Jeremiah Rivera and Jacob Scott.

Girls’ basketball: Kassandra Anderson, Emily Bozzer, Jacqueline DeFauw, Alexandria Radue and Olivia Weathers-Goethals.

Cheerleading: Lucy DeBisschop, Hayley Henderson, Samantha Noble, Anastasia Norville and Noelle Zumbrock.

Gymnastics: Hayley Henderson and Samantha Noble.

Maplettes: Stephanie Bollinger, Elizabeth DeReu, Amber Fobert and Hannah Johnson.

Wrestling: Robert Dodge, Sean Lillis, Oliver Newton and Tyler Puls.
