  • Molly R. Grahek, 98, of Geneseo, died Monday, April 2, 2012, at her home. A memorial Mass celebrating her life was held Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Michael Pakula officiated. Inurnment will be in Minnesota at a later date. A?visitation was held Monday, April 9, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Geneseo, where a rosary was recited. Per her request, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to St. Malachy’s Catholic School or Hammond-Henry Hospital Auxiliary.
    She was born on Feb. 6, 1914, in Rauch, Minn., the daughter of John and Mary (Ogrinc) Podlogar. She married Fred Grahek on Oct. 28, 1933, in Milwaukee, Wis. He died in 1990. She was a member of St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, the Altar &?Rosary Society of the church, Cursillo, and Hammond-Henry Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She also crocheted hats for the newborns at the hospital.
    Survivors include her daughter, Sue (Kelly) Woitel of Geneseo; six grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Ann Frese of California and a brother, Robert Podlogar of Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Jerry Grahek; four sisters and four brothers.
