A.J. Marimon not only captured his first state medal May 25-26 at the IHSA?Boys’ Track and Field State Finals in Charleston, but made school history in the process.
Marmion became the first sophomore thrower to earn All-State honors in the history of the program. He placed ninth in the discus finals with a throw of 157-04, where he was the only sophomore to compete. In the prelims, Marmion won his heat with a throw of 157-04.
Jordan Starkey placed 13th overall in the 3200-meter run as he crossed the finish line in 9 minutes and 46.76 seconds.
Kyle Reiling took seventh in his heat of the 1600-m run prelims with a time of 4:34.56.
