  • Robert A. Hartman, 47, of Magnolia, Texas, died at his home on Sunday, July 15, 2012. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church,?Geneseo. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery,?Geneseo with military rites by the Geneseo Veterans of Foreign War. A visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, July 20, at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo with a wake service to be held at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Geneseo Police Department.
    He was born on Jan. 23, 1965, in Geneseo, the son of John and Gloria (Loftus) Hartman. He graduated from J.D. Darnall High School, Geneseo in 1983 and in 1987 earned his BA in accounting and business administration from Augustana College. Upon graduation, he was employed for a short time at Bituminous Casualty Corporation before entering the U.S. Federal Marshals training program. Upon graduation, he served as a deputy marshal from 1991-1997. In 1997, he was promoted to U.S. Marshal Inspector and was transferred to Houston, Texas. After the tragedies of 9/11, he transferred to the Federal?Air Marshal Service as a Federal?Air Marshal. He served in this capacity from 2002 until his retirement in 2011. He loved his work with the Marshals service and traveled to all corners of the globe protecting and serving his country. He also served in the United States Army Reserves from 1999-2007.
    Survivors include his sisters and spouses, Debra and Mike Woods of Frazee, Minn., Sheri and David Quillen of Geneva, Jayne and Brian Baldwin of Warrenville and Julie and Ismael Seguban of Chicago; brothers and spouse, Tom Hartman of South Gate,?Calif. and Ron and Tracy Hartman of Geneseo; and 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John; and his best friend and loyal companion, his German Shepherd,?Casey.
