Kamey JoAnne Cathelyn, 49, of Toulon, died Monday, July 30, 2012, at Toulon Health Care Center. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at noon on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Atkinson. Private inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Annawan at a later date. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on?Friday, Aug. 3, prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Stark County?Ambulance Service, American Cancer Society or to the family.
She was born on Nov. 19, 1962, in Kewanee, the daughter of Jack and Donna (DeSplinter) Cathelyn. She was a graduate of Annawan High School. She had worked side-by-side with her mother for many years at the former Longhorn Restaurant in Annawan. She enjoyed playing with her granddaughter, camping, listening to music, cooking, baking and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her fiance, Tom Wilkinson; her father, Jack “Virgie” Cathelyn of Galva; a daughter, Ashlie Schaab and fiance, Bill Hamilton of Toulon; a son, Jamie Schaab of Toulon; a granddaughter, Mackenzie Hamilton of Toulon; a stepdaughter, Tessa Wilkinson of Bartonville; a grandmother, Mary DeSplinter of Annawan; a brother, Kevin Cathelyn of Braidwood; two nephews and several aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Schultz.
