  • George T. Jolly, 87, of Geneseo, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, died Monday, July 30, 2012, at Trinity Rock Island. Cremation rites will be accorded.   • George T. Jolly, 87, of Geneseo, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, died Monday, July 30, 2012, at Trinity Rock Island. Cremation rites will be accorded.     He was born on May 6, 1925, in Eagle River, Wis., the son of George and Jennie (Deyneka) Jolly. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1943, where he was a radio operator, which took him through the Mediterranean, Atlantic and Pacific oceans. He married Alice Carlson on?Nov. 3, 1948, and celebrated 63 years of marriage. He was in construction first for John Nelson, then John Dahlen, then formed a partnership with Paul Kropp known as Kropp & Jolly. After which very sadly Paul died and George continued on as Jolly Construction. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. His favorite pastimes were fishing, golfing, bowling and doing puzzles in the newspaper. He truly loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
    Survivors include his wife, Alice; two sons, Donald and Douglas (Colleen) Jolly; grandchildren, Jason and Melissa Jolly and George and Merriam Jolly, all of Geneseo and Cara Jolly of Los Angeles,?Calif.; and great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kassandra and Alexa Jolly. He was preceded in death by his son,?Dale.
