Steven E. Huffman, 64, of Geneseo, died Thursday, Aug. 30, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa. A visitation was held Sunday, Sept. 2 at Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd., Geneseo. Cremation rites were accorded following the visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Jerusalem United Methodist Church in Creston, Iowa. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Creston. In lieu of flowers and statuaries, the family requests memorials may be directed to the Steven Huffman Memorial Fund.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1948, in Creston, the son of Earl and Edith (Bennett) Huffman. He was a graduate of Creston High School and Iowa State University. He married Margery A. Goldsmith on Oct. 24, 1970, in Corning, Iowa. He was currently employed at Dultmeier Sales and had worked as a sales representative since 1999. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Geneseo Country Club. He loved outside yard work and working on his 1969 Camaro. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed golfing and loved his English Bulldog, Mackenzie.
Survivors include his wife, Marge; two sons and daughter-in-law, Chris and Brooke Huffman of Troy and Aaron Huffman and fiancée, Anna Ellis of Geneseo; three grandchildren, Samantha and Campbell Huffman and Blake Harris; one brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Diane Huffman of Creston; one sister, Joyce Rodecap of Holland Patent, N.Y.; three brothers-in-law and spouse, Russ and Janet Goldsmith of West Des Moines, Iowa, Bill Goldsmith of Warrensburg, Mo. and Steve Goldsmith of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents.
