"Fall Into Annawan," hosted by the Village of Annawan, will be Oct. 6 at Howe's Park and the Hennepin Canal.
The day will start at 9 a.m. with the Annawan Canal Ambush 5K run/walk and mini-triathlon.
The race will begin at the Hennepin Canal bridge north of town on Route 78. The event offers several options, including a 5K run/walk along the Hennepin Canal trail.
A mini-singles triathlon will feature a 1.5 mile run, a 6.7 mile bike ride and a 1.8 mile canoe/kayaak paddle.
A two-person mini-triathalon will feature the first person running 1.5 miles, the second person biking 6.7 miles and both paddling 1.8 miles together to finish.
A limited number of canoes/kayaks are available for reservation.
The day's activities will continue at Howe's Park. Children's activities will start at 10:30 a.m. and will include bounce houses, pumpkin painting, face painting and more.
An eating contest will be at 1 p.m. followed by a Buckaroo Rodeo for children at 2 p.m. The rodeo will include stick pony barrel races, a haystack scramble, chicken races and a greased pig contest.
Cow Pie Bingo will begin at 5:30 p.m. Bingo tickets are on sale and all proceeds will benefit the new Annawan Community Center.
Other evening events will include a chili cook-off and soup and chili supper. A bags tournament for participants of all ages will start at 5 p.m.
The day will conclude with a D.J. and dance in the park starting at 7 p.m.
