  • Eva Dell Ruberg, 87, of Geneseo, went to her heavenly home that her Lord and Savior prepared for her on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. A funeral service celebrating her life was held Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd., Geneseo. Pastor Rodney Ruberg officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Bureau. A visitation was held prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Moody Bible Institute-Ruberg Scholarship Fund, Chicago.
    She was born on Oct. 10, 1924, in Spring Valley, the daughter of Samuel Joel and Eva Dell (Ireland) Ruberg. She graduated from Orion High School in 1942 after attending Andover High School for three years. She attended Moody Bible Institute for three years. She was secretary of Orion High School from 1959 to 1960 and then was a teller at the State Bank of Osco. She was head of tellers at the bank when she retired in 1990 at 65 years of age. She enjoyed traveling, roses in her flower garden, church, music, family and was considered a special aunt at family gatherings. She enjoyed spoiling all her nieces and nephews. She taught Sunday School and Bible School and was the church treasurer for many years.
    Survivors include one sister, Opal Johnson of Geneseo and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved and enjoyed so very much. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and their wives, Max "Mick," Harland and Mildred, Delbert and Maurine and Rodney and Evelyn; her sister and her husband, Fern and Robert Geisinger; an infant sister; one niece, Linda Johnson; one great-niece, Kelly Johnson; one brother-in-law, Dale Johnson; one great-nephew, Kurt Doubet and one great-great nephew, Clint Burchfield.
