Richmond Hill Players will present Michael Frayn's madcap, slapstick farce "Noises Off."
The show will be staged Thursdays through Sundays, Oct. 4-14 at the Barn Theater in Geneseo with a special added performance on Oct. 10. The show is directed by Jalayne Riewerts of Morrison.
"Noises Off" takes a fond look at the follies of theater folk whose susceptibility to out-of-control egos, memory loss and passionate affairs turn every performance into a high-risk adventure.
This comedy-within-a-comedy captures a touring theatre troupe's production of "Nothing On" in three stages – dress rehearsal, the opening performance and a performance toward the end of the run.
Each performance is portrayed from behind the scenes, progressing from flubbed lines and missed cues in the dress rehearsal to mounting friction between cast members in the final performance.
Please note that this production contains some adult humor. The show is suitable for those age 13 and older.
The cast features: Diane Greenwood, Stan Weimer and Archie Williams, all of Geneseo; Sarah Hayes of Clinton, Iowa; David Lane of Muscatine, Iowa; and Molly McLaughlin, Kevin Pieper, Valeree Pieper and Bryan Woods, all of Moline.
The staff includes stage manager Suzanne DeReu, tech director Archie Williams and set builders Nathan Johnson and John VanDeWoestyne, all of Geneseo; crew member Melissa Scott of Orion and crew member R. Kent Riewerts of Morrison.
Fridays and Saturdays the doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Sundays are 3 p.m. matinees with the doors opening at 2 p.m.
