  • Four receive Geneseo Foundation scholarships

  • Four Geneseo students have been selected as the 2012 recipients of Geneseo Foundation scholarships. Recipients include Jennifer Barks, Landon Hoon, Hannah Lohman and Samantha Noble.

  • Four Geneseo students have been selected as the 2012 recipients of Geneseo Foundation scholarships. Recipients include Jennifer Barks, Landon Hoon, Hannah Lohman and Samantha Noble.
    Each recipient is awarded a $4,000 scholarship, paid as a $1,000-per-year scholarship for each of the four years of the recipient's college education.
    The scholarship is based upon financial need, scholastic achievement, school activities and community involvement.
    Barks is the daughter of Margaret Barks. She is attending Eastern Illinois University and plans to major in art or math education.
    Hoon is the son of Brent and Jeni Hoon. He is attending Illinois State University and majoring in business and finance.
    Lohman is the daughter of Mark and Nancy Lohman. She is attending the University of Illinois where she is majoring in engineering.
    Noble is the daughter of Bryan and Rebecca Noble. She is attending North Central College where she's majoring in secondary education.
    The scholarship program is part of the Geneseo Foundation's design to assist graduating seniors with their post secondary education goals. The scholarship program is in addition to awards given to each graduating senior who is a member of the National Honor Society or National Vocational Technical Honor Society and will be continuing their education.
    The Geneseo Foundation was established in 1961. It is administered by a board of managers comprised of the board of directors of Central Bank. Those managers are: Bryce Chamberlain, John DuBois, Bruce Fehlman, Michael Gernant, John Greenwood, Eric Johnson, Roger Pray and Todd Sieben.
