The Henry County Farm Bureau, in conjunction with the Bureau, Knox, Mercer and Stark County Farm Bureaus and the University of Illinois Extension, will sponsor the 2012 Fall Equine Seminar Series. The series will start on Nov. 1 with a program from the New Kingdom Trail Riders, an organization that provides therapeutic riding. Also that evening, Jennifer Fecht, a certified equine massage therapist, will give an equine massage demonstration. The section session will be Nov. 8 and will start with a discussion led by Brenda Matherly, assistant director of local government with the Illinois Farm Bureau. The evening also will feature a demonstration from Huntermark Farm in Coal Valley, the only barn in the Quad-Cities area exclusively dedicated to hunters and jumpers. Instructor Rachel Rock Robinson will be the guest speaker. Both the Nov. 1 and Nov. 8 session will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Ag Arena at Black Hawk College’s East Campus. Check-in will start at 6:15 p.m. The sessions are free for 4-H members, FFA members and Black Hawk East students. There is a cost for all other participants.
