Geneseo-based Four Seasons has opened a new store at SouthPark Mall in Moline.
"We've been doing business in Geneseo for more than 50 years and we've had a store in Davenport, Iowa, for nearly 25 years. Opening a store in Moline was the perfect complement to those stores," said Katie Andrios, president of Four Seasons' parent company, GWK Enterprises Inc.
The new store will be located in the corridor of SouthPark Mall near Dillard's and Younkers, in the former Eddie Bauer store.
The Moline Four Seasons will have approximately 6,000 square feet with missy, petite and plus-size women's fashions and accessories.
"We refinished the store and put up new walls and added some additional fitting rooms. We kept the store front itself mostly the same, but we put our own colors in the store," explained Andrios.
The SouthPark Mall Four Seasons opened on Nov. 1.
"We had to be open for the holidays. That was non-negotiable," said Andrios. "We want shoppers to experience our store while doing their holiday shopping."
In addition to the Geneseo and Davenport stores, Four Seasons has stores in Princeton and Peoria as well as in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Iowa City, Iowa.
"This isn't our first mall store. We're in the Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids and the Sycamore and Old Capitol malls in Iowa City," said Andrios.
With more than 1,000 Moline residents already on Four Seasons' mailing list, Andrios had been looking to expand to that community.
"I'd been looking at Moline for over a year but only recently started to work with SouthPark Mall," she said.
SouthPark Mall's management company recently changed from Simon to Macerich.
"With the change, the leasing agent we work with at the Lindale Mall (in Cedar Rapids) was moved to the Quad City area. She called us up and asked us to consider SouthPark," said Andrios.
"Everyone I've encountered is so excited for us to be in Moline," she said. "We have already hired a store manager; she was working for us at our Davenport store, and we've hired about eight other people for the new Moline store."
Andrios said the new store will be "very similar" to the stores in Geneseo and Davenport.
"We'll have a lot of the same thing at each store, but we also always buy each store special things to make them unique," she explained.
