Bernice G. Danielson, 97, of Geneseo, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 6 at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo. The Rev. Dr. David Esche officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. A visitation was held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Geneseo or Kemmerer Village, a Presbyterian Child Care Agency.
She was born on Oct. 25, 1915, in Geneseo, the daughter of Frank and Mabel (McElwain) McIlvain. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1933. She married Marion L. Painter on Feb. 24, 1936, in Geneseo and later married Ben R. Danielson on Dec. 7, 1963, in Geneseo. He died on June 4, 1986. She retired in 1981 from Central Bank, Geneseo, after 33 years. She was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church, Geneseo and member of Presbyterian Women. She had been a registrar for Geneseo Alumni for 38 years.
Survivors include three daughters and spouses, Joan and Jimmie Gustafson of Coal Valley; Janet Cook of Moline and Jerilyn and Ted Powell of Geneseo; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Jean Coker, and a brother, Paul McIlvain.
