  • Rita E. Rehder, 87, of Geneseo, formerly of Moline, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society, Geneseo. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at a later date in Andover Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Luthern Church, ASHHS or Good Samaritan Society, Geneseo. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory Ltd. Moline assisted the family with arrangements.
    She was born on March 17, 1925, in Probsteierhagen, Germany, the daughter of Wilhelm and Klara (Wellendorf) Denker. She married Ernst Rehder in 1948 in Hohenwestedt, Germany. Prior to coming to Moline, she worked for 18 years as a bookkeeping supervisor for Grayslake National Bank, Grayslake. She was a member of the German American National Congress (DANK), the American Schlweswig-Holstein Heritage Society (ASHHS) and Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline.
    Survivors include her husband, Ernst Rehder of Geneseo; a son and spouse, Jens and Judy Rehder of Andover; grandchildren, Capt. Anna Rehder USAF of San Antonio, Texas, Paul and Nicole Rehder of West Covina, Calif. and Jeffrey and Angela Hyett of Dalton City; great granddaughter, Amanda Hyett of Edwardsville and sisters, Ruth, Lisa and Gertrud of Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Klaus, Emil (Missing in Action, World War II), Ernie and Peter; and two sisters, Frieda and Ulla.
