  • Julie L. Fisher, 46, Erie, formerly of Geneseo, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at O.S.F. Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 10 at the Geneseo Chapel of Vandemore Funeral Homes, Ltd. The Rev. Rod Dye officiated. Burial was in North Cemetery, Geneseo. A visitation was held Sunday, Dec. 9 at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Julie Fisher Memorial Fund.
    She was born on Jan. 26, 1966, in Riceville, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Shirley (Haugland) Fisher. She was a 1984 graduate of J.D. Darnall High School, Geneseo. She worked at Tyson Foods in Joslin for 13 years where she was a Union Steward, prior to that she farmed with her father in rural Yorktown/Prophetstown. She loved spending time with her daughter, Shauna, as well as doing ceramics, playing cards and playing with Daisy Mae, her dog.
    Survivors include her daughter, Shauna Fisher of Erie; her parents, Gene and Shirley Fisher of Geneseo; two sisters and spouses, Deb Carpenter (Glenn Johnson) of Prophetstown and Denise (Mike) Ward of Geneseo; two nephews, Brad (Joleen) Carpenter and Andy (Mallorie) Ward; two nieces, Samantha (Curt) Busse and Sarah Ward; three great-nieces and one great nephew. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Fisher and her grandparents.
