Robert E. Schuter, 83, long-time resident of Geneseo, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Dec. 18 at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Village. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline was in charge of arrangements.
Robert Emmit Schuter was born on Feb. 3, 1929, in Chicago, the son of John and Agnes Schuter. He married Eleanor Dillender in Geneseo. She died on April 18, 1997. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was employed in construction by the City of Geneseo for many years. He was a life member of Don Cherry VFW Post No. 5083, Geneseo. He was well-liked by the Geneseo Community, and was always there when someone needed help.
Survivors include several step-children and their families, including a step granddaughter, Paula Finch of Muscatine, Iowa and her children, Jennifer Terronez and Steven Ryan.
