  • The Bucktown Revue will appear at the Richmond Hill Barn Theatre in Geneseo for a one-night-only performance on Jan. 11.
The Bucktown Revue is an old-fashioned radio variety program performed live in front of an audience and recorded for later Web-cast.
In the tradition of radio programs such as "A Prairie Home Companion" and "The Grand Ole Opry," Bucktown celebrates Mississippi River Valley folk music and culture with an eclectic combination of music, storytelling, poetry and humor.
The Revue's Geneseo performance will feature entertainers including: The Shoesmiths, Steve Flatt and Shaun Easton, the Bucktown Gals, Tom Vaccaro and Ellis Kells, the Tangents, Steve Couch, Ammon Paquette and A Touch of Fun.
Regular house bands Milltown (bluegrass) and the Barley House Band (Irish and Scottish folk music) will be on hand, along with host Scott Tunnicliff. The evening will feature family-friendly entertainment.
"The Bucktown Revue is excited to come to Richmond Hill in Geneseo," said Michael Romkey, writer and producer of the Revue. "The show has a bit of traveling tent show in its DNA, so we've wanted to take the Revue on the road for a long time. It gives us the opportunity to reach new audiences."
The Bucktown Revue performance in Geneseo will start at 7 p.m. Jan. 11. Reservations may be made by contacting the Richmond Hill Players at 944-2244.
