Lorene Ouart, 87, of Annawan, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at the Fairview United Methodist Church, south of Annawan. The Rev. Dan Wright will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee. A visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Geneseo Humane Society or Annawan-Alba Library. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Annawan, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lorene Purvis was born on July 18, 1925, the daughter of George and Cora (Dye) Purvis. She married Delmar R. Ouart on Feb. 22, 1946, in Kewanee. He died on May 24, 2000. She was a homemaker and employed at Kraft Foods in Manlius. Later she owned and operated with her husband, L&D Coin Laundry and Lorene's Beauty Salon in Annawan until retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Fairview Church, rural Annawan, a former member of Country Cruisers Motorcycle Club and GWRRA. She enjoyed her family, her cat, bowling, touring on motorcycles and the friends she met in her work, church and travels.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela (Jack) Hyett of Annawan; two sons, Michael (Jerre Lu) Ouart of Terrell, Texas and Mitchell (Sherry) Ouart of Annawan; four grandsons, Bradley Ouart of Dixon, Christopher (fiancée Rose) Ouart of Aurora, Jeramy (Laura) Ouart of Maryville, Tenn. and Matthew Hyett of Annawan; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant sister and her brother, Duward Purvis.
