Laurence W. "Larry" Larson, 88, of Geneseo, formerly of Joliet, died peacefully after a lingering illness on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Funeral services were held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 12. Interment was at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet. He was retired from Joliet Avionics. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Joliet and the First Lutheran Church in Geneseo. He volunteered at the Shepherds Table in Joliet and, in his retirement years, he worked as a page at the Joliet Public Library. He enjoyed wood carving and flying model airplanes.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Arline R. (née Lindgren) Larson; three daughters, Nancy (Gary) Kantner, Noralie (Patrick) Jachim and Nalene (Raymond) Termini; two granddaughters, Lindsay (Mark) Clark and Ariane (Matt) Szynkarek; two brothers, Wendell (Jean) Larson and Eugene (Donna) Larson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
