Marilyn R. Lund, 84, of Cambridge, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Kewanee Care Home in Kewanee. Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at the Cambridge United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Joyce will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Grace Church Cemetery, rural Osco. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. Memorials may be made to the Cambridge United Methodist Church.
Marilyn Sidlinger was born on Sept. 17, 1928, in Port Byron, the daughter of Harry B. and Alva (Hollister) Sidlinger. She graduated valedictorian of Port Byron High School in 1946. She married Levern Lund of rural Cambridge on Sept. 9, 1950, in Port Byron. He died on Feb. 1, 2011. Levern and Marilyn farmed in Osco Township for 36 years. She also worked for Rishel Equipment in Cambridge and Empire Equipment Company in Geneseo as a bookkeeper.
Her memberships included: the Cambridge United Methodist Church; a charter member of the Valley View Country Club, Cambridge; the N.A.G.s; the Cambridge Library Book Club; and the Social Hour Club. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and traveling.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Vickie Lund of Quincy and John and Joanne Lund of Hampshire; grandchildren, Steven Lund and his wife, Teegan, of Jacksonville; Jared Lund and Jillian Lund, both of Hampshire; a great granddaughter, Lindsey Lund of Jacksonville; and a sister, Erma Machac of Milwaukee, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
