Elizabeth A. Fassett, 82, of Geneseo, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at her home. Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, March 23 at Oakwood Cemetery. Rodney Weber officiated. A visitation was held prior to services at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to the Geneseo Food Pantry or Geneseo High School FFA Chapter.
She was born on June 22, 1930, in Geneseo, the daughter of Ralph S. and Bernice L. (Pritchard) Bollen. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1947. She married Paul R. Fassett on Dec. 30, 1950. He died on Aug. 15, 1987. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo. Her community activities included volunteering to read with children at Northside School and serving as an election judge. She enjoyed a lifelong interest in gardening and agriculture and she worked diligently alongside her husband on the family farm north of Geneseo. She was an accomplished cook and seamstress. She made many quilts for the Linus Project. She also was a very talented artist working with many different mediums. She consigned her art work at local businesses and craft fairs.
Survivors include her son, Roger P. (Cathelean) Fassett of Geneseo; her daughter, Linda L. (Joseph) Rudolphi of Noble; five grandchildren, Olivia, John and Kathleen Rudolphi, and Maria and Nolan Fassett; one sister, Mary Lou (Roy) Booker of Springfield; two nephews, Mark Booker of Dexter, Mo. and Troy Booker of Breckenridge, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
