  • Lucille F. Doubler, 89, of Atkinson, died Friday, April 19, 2013, at her home. A funeral Mass celebrating her life was held Tuesday, April 23 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Atkinson. The Rev. R. Anthony Lee officiated. Burial was in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Atkinson. A visitation was held Monday, April 22 at Vandemore Funeral Home, Atkinson, where a Rosary was recited. Memorials may be left to St. Anthony's Cemetery or the Atkinson Rescue Squad.
    She was born on Sept. 3, 1923, in Annawan Township, Annawan, the daughter of Leslie and Helen (Floming) Causemaker. She attended Sacred Heart School in Annawan and St. Anthony's School in Atkinson. She married Albert L. Doubler on Jan. 23, 1940, in Geneseo. He died in 1999. She had been employed as a cook at the former Branding Iron Restaurant, Atkinson and then later as a calibrator at Harper-Wyman Inc., Princeton for more than 20 years from which she then retired. She belonged to St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Atkinson and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church; World War II Mothers of which she was the former president, Catholic Order of the Foresters and the Recipes & Recollections Cookbook Committee for St. Anthony's Church. She loved her family and special neighbors. She wa an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved to cook for family and friends.
    Survivors include one daughter, Mary Kay (Marvin) Newman Jr. of Cambridge; one son, Ronald (Roberta) Doubler of New Windsor; five grandchildren, Cathy (Roger) Dunham, Darren (Sue) Schumaker, Douglas (Marie) Schumaker, Melanie (Jesse) Dean and Melinda (Greg) Taylor; eight great grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and 10 step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one daughter, Betty Lou Doubler.
