  • Marjorie S. Maeltzer, 93, of Geneseo, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Hammond-Henry Long Term Care, Geneseo. A funeral service celebrating her life was held Monday, April 29 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Chris Bushre officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. A visitation was held Sunday, April 28 at Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd., Geneseo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to St. John's Lutheran Church.
    She was born on Nov. 24, 1919, in Galva, the daughter of James and Sadie (Shirley) Moline. She married Boyd Wilhelm Maeltzer on Jan. 10, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo. He died on Nov. 2, 1978. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, St. John's Married Couples Club, LWML and Woman's-Ladies Aid Group. She enjoyed fishing trips, playing buck and cribbage and bowling. She also quilted at Good Samaritan Village for many years as a volunteer.
    Survivors include two sons, Ronald Maeltzer of Geneseo and Daniel (Roselyn) Maeltzer of Osco; two daughters, Shirley (James) Dahl of Geneseo and Nancy (Don) Rice of Geneseo; one sister, Mikki Moline of Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren, Nicole (Bryan) Kubiak, Laura (Brent) Anderson, Michael (Jan) Dahl, Kindra (John) Thompson, Bill (Sue) Johnson and Scott (Kim) Johnson; 11 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd; two brothers and one sister.
