Dorothy Mae Huffman, 81, a resident of Good Samaritan Village in Geneseo, formerly of Galva, passed away at 3:55 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 at the village.
She was born Oct. 16, 1931 in Galva, the daughter of Harvey and Pearl (Lempke) Huffman.
Survivors include three sisters, Doris Harper and Mary Ann Haff, both of Geneseo, and Betty Turner of Galva; 10 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers-in-law, John Turner and James Haff, and a great nephew, Brian DeCrane.
Dorothy was a homemaker and in her earlier years was a member of Home Extension.
She enjoyed doing crafts, needle work, embroidery, reading, traveling, camping and especially playing bingo at the Galva Senior Citizens Center and at Good Samaritan Village in Geneseo.
She thoroughly enjoyed her family, who was very near and dear to her.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Rev. Chris Ritter will officiate. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 26 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Good Samaritan Village Activity Fund.
