Brian Curtis Waller, 68, of Urbana, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center, Johnson Creek, Wis. after a brief battle with cancer. No formal services will be held locally. A memorial service is being planned for Urbana, Ohio. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, Wis. is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born on Aug. 11, 1944, in Rock Island, the son of Curtis and Harriet (Murphy) Waller. After graduation from Geneseo High School, Brian worked briefly at Midway Stone Quarry and then at the Farmall Tractor Plant in Rock Island where he was a Union Steward, UAW Local No. 402. When International Harvester went through a reorganization, he moved to Ohio and worked at the Navistar Plant, producing trucks. He retired in 2001. He was an avid lifelong collector of antique collectibles.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce Waller of Fort Atkinson and Troy (Tami) Waller of Geneseo; grandchildren, Brennan, Jacob, Lucas and Hannah; two step-sons, Derrick Gregory and Jason Stamper of Ohio; three step grandchildren, Jazzmean, Skyler and Jason; two sisters, Sharon (Dale) Casteel of Cambridge and Donna Anderson of Aurora, S.D. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue; sister, Cassandra; and an infant brother, Gregory.
