Shirley Mae (Parr) Laufenberg, 83, of Moline, formerly of Geneseo, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Bickford Cottage, Moline. A visitation was held Sunday, July 14 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd., East Moline. Funeral services were held Monday, July 15 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.
She was born on Jan. 27, 1930, in Westby, Wis., the daughter of Hugh and Olga (Martinson) Parr. She married Donald Laufenberg on Oct. 20, 1948, in Pine Hollow, Wis. He died on June 30, 1981. She was a longtime resident of Geneseo and had been a longtime member of the Women of the Moose.
Survivors include her son, Michael (Zobeida) Laufenberg, Brian (Angie) Laufenberg, both of the Quad Cities; three grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Bohland of Moline and Marie Pervenanze of Buhl, Minn.; brother Hubert (Yvonne) Parr of Westby and a host of nieces and nephews.
