Clarence Alex Stricklin, 75, Harrisburg, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at Saline Care Center.
He was born on Feb. 26, 1938, in Harrisburg to the late William and Nola (Westmoreland) Stricklin. Clarence worked and managed Arensmans Shoe Store/Swans Shoe Store and worked as a custodian at SIC. He was a former member of the Harrisburg Eagles.
Survivors include a daughter: Sherry (Jim) Williams of Harrisburg, a son: Kevin Stricklin of Mcleansboro, a daughter: Donna (Tim) Stotlar of Creal Springs and a daughter: Lia Milstead and fiancée Kelly Melton of Harrisburg; 10 grandchildren: Jeremy Williams, Tiffany (Phil) Nyberg, Jennifer (Frankie) Bourland, Greg Stricklin, Scott (Stormy) Stricklin, Anthony Stotlar, Jon Stotlar, Brista (Justin) Barrington, Brittany (Kreig) Taylor and Brandy (Michael) Riden; 17 great-grandchildren: Sebastian Williams, Maxwell Engel, Zoey Williams, Rylan Nyberg, Brody Nyberg, Breanna Bourland, Nathan Bourland, Jaiden Stricklin, Makenzee Stricklin, Noah Stricklin, Corry Stricklin, Elijah Stotlar, Drew Barrington, Dylan Barrington, Madilyn Duffy, Quinton Taylor and Chandler Questelle; two sisters-in-law: Neva Stricklin and Izetta Stricklin; and several nieces and nephews.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Herschel Stricklin and Walter Stricklin; a half sister, Julie Stricklin Ewell; a great-grandson, Dalton Stricklin; and nephew, Steve Stricklin.
Private family services will be held followed by sunset burial. The Rev. James Williams will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Harrisburg Shop with a Cop FOP Lodge 152. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
