  • Jeffrey L. Grib, 47, of Geneseo, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at his home. A memorial Mass celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Michael Pakula will officiate. Per his request, cremations rites have been accorded. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery....

  • Jeffrey L. Grib, 47, of Geneseo, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at his home. A memorial Mass celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Michael Pakula will officiate. Per his request, cremations rites have been accorded. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at St. Malachy Church, Geneseo. Memorials may be left to the Jeffrey Grib Memorial Fund. Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo is assisting the family with arrangements.
    He was born on Oct. 3, 1965, in Oak Lawn, the son of Gerald and Barbara (Derk) Grib. He was a graduate of Andrew High School, Orland Park and attended Eastern Illinois University. He had worked as an outside sales associate for Advance Steel in Michigan. He attended St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, Geneseo. While he was in high school, he enjoyed playing baseball and football, and, after high school, he enjoyed hockey. He had enjoyed coaching Little League football in Oak Forest.
    Survivors include his parents, Gerald and Barbara Grib of Geneseo; one son, Derek Grib of Oak Forest; one daughter, Drew Grib of Oak Forest; one granddaughter, Delaney Grib; one sister, Deborah (Kent) Wolfe of Geneseo; two brothers, David Grib of California and Christopher (Lori) Grib of Miamisburg, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
