  • Jordan L. Rahn, 19, of Atkinson, died unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, on arrival to Hammond-Henry Hospital Emergency Room after collapsing while playing football with his friends. A funeral service celebrating his life was held Monday, Oct. 7 at Atkinson Congregational Church. The Rev. Michael McBride officiated. Burial was in Atkinson Township Cemetery, rural Atkinson. A visitation was held Sunday, Oct. 6 at Vandemore Funeral Home Ltd., Atkinson. Memorials may be made to the Jordan Rahn Memorial Fund.
    He was born on Nov. 17, 1993, in Moline, the son of Ryan and Lola (Hall) Rahn. He graduated from Geneseo High School in 2012. He was currently an apprentice plumber with Wirth Inc., a job that he thoroughly loved and enjoyed going to every day.
    He was a member of the Atkinson Congregational Church. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, was an avid sports fan, and loved playing soccer, baseball and disc golf with his buddies. He loved camping with his family. He loved his brothers and sisters very much but made a point to make his sister, Carmen, feel special.
    Survivors include his parents, Ryan and Lola Rahn of Atkinson; one brother, Josh Rahn of Atkinson; three sisters, Amber Rahn, Brianna Rahn and Carmen Rahn, all at home; grandparents, Rich and Gay Ann Rahn of Atkinson and Irene Hall of Atkinson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Melvin Hall.
