Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. As per her wishes, her body will be cremated.   • Julie Ann Hansen, 90, of Moline, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. As per her wishes, her body will be cremated. Private family inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. The family will greet friends and family from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
    Julie Weimer was born on Sept. 20, 1923, in Geneseo, the daughter of Harry and Moneta (Sand) Weimer. Julie graduated from Geneseo High School, Class of 1941. After graduation, she worked at the Rock Island Telephone office for three years as a local and long-distance operator and a junior supervisor. She also had worked at Sears in Moline for 16 years in the candy department and as a switchboard operator. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Winchester Hansen on June 10, 1944, at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, Geneseo. He died on Nov. 30, 2001. Julie loved traveling in the family motor home, together with her late husband, Bob, they saw much of this great country. She like bowling, the outdoors, planting flowers, and loved sports, especially football. Julie was a member of the Moline Horticulture Club.
    Survivors include her children and spouses, Lynn (Leonard) Peterson of East Moline; Chris “Cricky” (Barney) Hurley of Coal Valley; Mary (Florito) Flores of Reno, Nev.; Susan Chambers of Maquoketa, Iowa, and Steve R. Hansen of Monroe, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and her brother, James (Geraldine) Weimer of Geneseo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; and her daughter, Anne Hansen Moore.
