Do you ever feel like you keep eating at the same restaurants whenever you go out to eat? Well, maybe it is time to try something new. The Mansion Restaurant and Bar, co-owned by William Hopper and Patrick Morre,y is having their grand opening on Saturday, January 11 at 11 a.m. “It's been my dream to open a restaurant for 15 years,” Hopper said He was born and raised in Marion and has experience when it comes to restaurants, having helped open seven restaurants in four different states. Hopper said that what sets the restaurant apart from others is the quality of food and the reasonable pricing. Some other aspects that make The Mansion unique is they make their pasta fresh in house, their steaks are hand cut and all sauces and dressings are made in house, along with their caramel sauce used on desserts. One of the burgers, called the Fireplace Burger, which has a spicy signature hot sauce, is expected to be a popular item. Other items on the menu include: five other types of burgers, soups, salads, various sandwiches; Reuben, Monte Cristo, Philly Cheese Steak, Turkey Club, Italian Beef, chicken dishes, pastas, steaks, and seafood, including fresh blue crab cakes. They also have several appetizers including $.35 wings, and crab dip. “I am looking forward to pleasing people with my food,” Hopper said. The Mansion Restaurant and Bar's hours are 11 a.m. - 2 a.m. seven days a week. On Sundays from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. there will be a brunch that will include a waffle station and an omelet station, where the cook will make whatever the customer would like. The Mansion also has a banquet that can be rented for events such as wedding or parties and offers free delivery within 10 miles of the restaurant.
