The Geneseo boys’ tennis team nabbed two wins in action this past week over Streator and UT.

Geneseo vs. Streator

The Leafs grabbed a 4-1 conference win over visiting Streator April 10.

Geneseo split matches in singles play with Connor Vandersnick winning the No. 1 match, 6-1 and 6-1 over Logan Chismar; while Brock Piotrowski fell, 6-4, 0-6 and 2-6 to Daniel Rashid.

Bryce Gramling/Luke Verplaetse led the way for the Leafs in doubles’ action with a 6-3 and 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles over Colby Orban/Tanner Haar.

Logan Lanphere/Tyler Williams won the No. 2 match over Steven Lawless/Nate Koval, 6-2 and 6-2; while Henry Dethlefs/Eric Dellett won the No. 3 match, 6-3 and 6-1 over Edgar Lopez/Zac Pastirik.

Geneseo vs. UT

Geneseo edged out host UT, 5-4 in non-conference action April 9 with three singles’ and two doubles’ wins.

Vandersnick, Gramling and Brock Piotrowski all earned wins in singles’ play — Vandersnick, 6-1 and 6-1 over Stephen Golden; Gramling, 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) over Ryan Cahalan and Piotrowski, 6-4 and 6-3 over Remy Halen.

Verplaetse/Gramling were victorious at No. 1 doubles, 6-4 and 6-3 over Golden/Halen; while Williams/Vandersnick nabbed a 6-0 and 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles over Thomas Osborne/Ardit Neziri.

Williams suffered a 4-6 and 3-6 loss to Osborne at No. 3 singles; followed by Verplaetse who fell to Neziri, 6-7 (9-11) and 1-6; and Lanphere lost to Andray Golden, 0-6 and 2-6.

Dethlefs/Brock Piotrowski were defeated in the No. 3 spot 2-6 and 1-6 by Cahalan/Andray Golden.

The Leafs will host Galesburg next at 4:30 p.m. April 21.
