Geneseo vs. Dixon
The Lady Leafs nabbed their third-straight conference shut out April 29 with a 7-0 victory over host Dixon.
Caitlin Akers put Geneseo on the board with back-to-back goals — the first on the assist from Rachel Smith at the 3-minute mark and the second on the assist from Heather Setser at 3:30.
Setser punched through two goals of her own at 5:00 on the assist from Akers and unassisted goal at 20:00 to put Geneseo out ahead 4-0.
Tarah Fisher capped off the half with a goal at 32:00 on the assist from Kylie Gerhardt to give Geneseo the 5-0 advantage at the half.
Hannah Pace did the scoring in the second half with a goal at 44:00 on the assist from Akers and the second was an unassisted goal at 51:00 to secure the win.
The Lady Leafs took 15 shots on goal and Darci Dietrich had one save in net; while Dixon finished with one shot on goal and had nine saves.
Geneseo vs. Streator
Geneseo cruised past another conference opponent April 28 when the girls shut out host Streator, 10-0.
Pace got the scoring started for the Lady Leafs with two goals in the first nine minutes of play, both unassisted at the 7-minute mark and 9:00-mark.
Setser punched in Geneseo’s third goal of the contest at 14:00, unassisted to put GHS ahead 3-0.
Then it was the Coulter sisters who took over and got in on the scoring action.
Megan Coulter knocked in a goal on the assist from Lauren Coulter at 26:00; followed by an unassisted goal by Lauren Coulter at 32:00.
Jessa Coulter added two goals – one on the assist from Lauren Coulter at 32:00 and the second was unassisted at 35:00; while Lauren Coulter booted through another goal on a penalty kick at 36:00.
Akers capped off the half with an unassisted goal at 39:00 to give Geneseo the 9-0 advantage at the half.
Abby Wilebski knocked through the only goal of the second half on the assist from Lauren Coulter at 42:00.
Geneseo finished the game with 18 shots on goal and Dietrich had two saves in net; while Streator took two shots goal and had seven saves.
Geneseo vs. Sterling
The Lady Leafs trounced visiting Sterling April 25, 10-0 in conference action.
Setser started Geneseo off with a goal in the first two minutes of action on the assist from Lauren Coulter.
Pace punched in the Lady Leafs’ second goal, unassisted, at 4:00; while Lauren Coulter followed with a goal on the assist from Pace a minute later at 5:00.
Pace added her second goal of the game on the assist from Akers at he 6:00-mark, and completed the hat trick with an unassisted goal 2 minutes later to put Geneseo up 5-0.
Jordan DePauw got in on the scoring action with an unassisted goal at 18:00; followed by Becca Rapps with a pair of goals — one on the assist from Shelby Clary at 21:00 and the second a minute later on the assist from Kaylie Piekos.
Smith capped off the first half with an unassisted goal at the 34:00-mark to give Geneseo the 9-0 advantage at the half.
Jessa Coulter booted through Geneseo’s lone goal of the second half unassisted at 49:00.
Geneseo took 16 shots on goal and Alissa Zobrist had zero saves in net; while Sterling took zero shots on goal and had six saves.
The Lady Leafs (10-1 overall and 5-0 in the NIB 12) will next host Ottawa at 4:30 p.m. May 6.
