ANDOVER—The 175th anniversary highlights include visits by Jenny Lind and Pastor Lars Paul Esbjörn, a car show, children's activities, a parade, concerts, and a beard contest.
ANDOVER—The Terrible Swedes ruled Andover from the 1920s into the 1940s, and for one day they ruled the village again in the 2000s. Feats of the famous baseball team were celebrated with a game against WQAD TV during Andover Colonial Days on Saturday, June 2, 2007.
Andover Lake Park hosted the slowpitch softball game on the Terrible Swedes Diamond.
ANDOVER—One of the highlights of village history was the royal visit in September 1996.
ANDOVER—During Andover’s 175th anniversary celebration, Augustana Lutheran Church will celebrate its 160th birthday. The church will host a community worship service at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 6, on the east side of Andover Lake Park. Mark Schwiebert, the former mayor of Rock Island, will be the speaker.
ANDOVER—An Andover woman’s apron collection will be featured during the 175th anniversary festival. More than 75 aprons will be on display from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, in the Andover American Legion.

ANDOVER—“The Dreamers,” a light-hearted recollection of Andover’s early history, will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, June 4, and Saturday, June 5, in Luther Hall at Augustana Lutheran Church.
