Patrick H. Gray, 87, of Colona, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at Hillcrest Home, in Geneseo. A funeral service celebrating his life was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 at Vandmore Funeral Homes & Crematory, in Geneseo. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery, in Geneseo. A visitation was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7 at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the Patrick Gray Memorial Fund.

Patrick was born April 11, 1929, in Carrolltown, Pa., the son of Thomas and Marie (Troxeller) Gray. Pat was united in marriage to Shirley A. Schweninger on April 28, 1950, in Geneseo. She preceded him in death in 2007.

Pat had been employed at C.D. Ford and Sons, in Geneseo, for 16 years. He later was employed as a repairman at the John Deere Harvester Works, in East Moline, for 26 years, retiring in 1990. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the UAW No. 865. He helped start the Geneseo Little League Baseball program. He enjoyed fishing, taking care of his yard, and ten-pin bowling, where he was one of the original inductees into the Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his children, Gary (Diane) Gray, of Geneseo; Carolyn (Chuck) Stock, of Loveland, Colo.; Larry (Jane) Gray, of Osco; Jack Gray, of Farmington; Steven (Stephanie) Gray, of Silvis; and Ron (Jeannie) Gray, of Seaton; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Tom Gray, of Geneseo; a sister, Lorraine Jennings, of Texas; and a special friend, Jeannene Tournear, of Atkinson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents; one brother; and four sisters.
