Robert A. “Bob” Kyser, 48, of Geneseo, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, in Peoria. A visitation was from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27 at Van Hoe Funeral Home, in East Moline. Cremation rites were accorded following the visitation. A private graveside service at the Rock Island National Cemetery will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, in Chicago.

Robert was born Dec. 21, 1968, in Moline, the son of Robert Kyser and Barbara (Lackey) McSparin. He graduated from United Township High School in 1987. Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1987 and served as an MP in the Philippines. He was honorably discharged in 1994. He married Donna Freymann on March 13, 1999, at home in rural Geneseo. He was a cable contractor with Illowa Cable for 17 years.

Bob enjoyed rebuilding, shooting and repairing guns. He and his son, Matt, were involved in IPIL, IPA and the rifle program. He also enjoyed his grandbabies and his family. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.

Bob is survived by his wife, Donna; six children, Matthew (Brittany) Seefeldt, of Hillsdale; Andrew (Destiny) Kyser, of Colona; Mitchell (Mariah Blasedell) Freymann, of Morrison; Meagan Seefeldt, of Hillsdale; Sarah Kyser, of Geneseo; and Emily Kyser, of Silvis; six grandchildren, Chloe, Chance, Myra, Raiden, Bella and Harper; and his mother, Barbara McSparin, of Norfolk, Ark. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Paul Lackey.
