William K. Rickman Jr., 86, of Osco, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, at UnityPoint - Trinity, in Rock Island. A funeral service celebrating his life was at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29 at First Lutheran Church, in Geneseo. The Rev. Lynn Bergren officiated. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery, in Geneseo. A visitation was one hour (10 a.m. to 11 a.m.) prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Osco-Andover Fire Department or the Cambridge Ambulance. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory, in Geneseo, is assisting the family with arrangements.

William was born June 13, 1930, in Geneseo, the son of William and Leona (Kane) Rickman. He graduated from Geneseo High School in 1948. He was united in marriage to Joyce R. Stenzel on Feb. 18, 1951, in Geneseo. She preceded him in death in 2011. William was a lifetime grain and livestock farmer in rural Osco. He also served in the Army Reserves. He has been a long-time member of First Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Scott) Hawkins, of Elmhurst; son, Rodger (Stephanie) Rickman, of Geneseo; grandchildren, Royce (Jen) Rickman, of Davenport, Iowa, and David Rickman, of Osco; and great-grandchildren, Brook and Bryli Rickman. He was preceded in death by his wife; two sisters, Marjorie Neulieb and Helen Brown; and two infant sons.
