Kathleen J. Wagner, 89, of Geneseo, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 24, 2017, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island. A funeral service will be at noon on Saturday, April 29 at Trimble Funeral Home, 1701 1st St., Coal Valley. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon before the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will follow in Coal Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mission Department at First Baptist Church, in Geneseo.

The former Kathleen June Heller was born Sept. 9, 1927, in Geneseo, to Neal and Kathryn Wynick Heller. She married Joe Wagner on May 16, 1965, in Orion. He died Nov. 11, 1981. She worked as a waitress for various local restaurants for more than 30 years, retiring in 1965. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, in Geneseo, and active in various church groups. She was a charter member of the Coal Valley Lioness Club, a member of the Geneseo Lioness Club, and had been active in the Geneseo Food Program for 12 years.

She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon Cole, of Pascagoula, Miss.; Carol Hay, of Silvis; and Kathryn and Leland Roggenkamp, of Cocoa, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and four sisters.
