Jean C. Haynie, 80, of Silvis, died Friday, July 28, 2017, at her home. Funeral services were at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1 at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., in East Moline. A visitation was from 10:30 a.m. until the service time. Burial followed in Greenview Memorial Gardens, in East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Jean Damm was born Nov. 4, 1936, in Rock Island, the daughter of Harold and Grace (Arnold) Damm. She married Kenneth on Sept. 16, 1961, in Moline. She was a Brownie leader and Cub Scout Den Mother and a foster parent. She enjoyed bowling and was a 30-plus year member of the Women of the Moose. She loved being with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Ken; children, Dana (Susan) Haynie, of Silvis; Joni (Joe) Redman, of Rock Island; and Darby (Damon) Willaert, of Geneseo; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, RuthAnn Welch, of East Moline; and Kay Chase, of Moline; brothers, Ray (Marilyn) Damm, of Silvis; Neal (Barb) Damm, of Davenport, Iowa; and Tim (Sandy) Damm, of East Moline; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Damm, of East Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gary.
