Marjorie E. Headley, 78, of Atkinson, formerly of Milan, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at the Aspen Rehab & Healthcare Center, in Silver. Graveside funeral services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22 at North Cemetery, in Geneseo. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Easter Seals Foundation. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, in Geneseo, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marjorie was born Aug. 19, 1938, in Geneseo, the daughter of James E. and Doris Dean (Youngquist) Morrell. She graduated from Ellicot High School, in Ellicot, Colo., and later attended Black Hawk College. Marjorie was united in marriage to James Headley on Dec. 9, 1960, in Security, Colo. Marjorie’s love and focus of her life were her grandchildren, especially Shelby.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, James Headley; her son, James “JD” Dean (Teresa) Headley, of Moline; and her daughter, Julianne (Scott) Branham, of Atkinson. Her grandchildren are: Ryan Michael Branham, Shelby Ann Branham, and Anna Louise Headley. Her siblings are: brother, Dr. Lawrence Morrell, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and sisters, Ruth Sinnes, of Security, Colo.; Pat Harper, of Calhan, Colo.; Mary Nevling, of New Windsor; and Sally Schwaner, of Kirksville, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Dr. Lynn Morrell, Lyle Morrell and James Morrell; and her sisters, Betty Dahl, Shirley Hoffmeier, and Martha Molloy.
