Ritchie A. Jensen, 61, of Atkinson, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at University Hospitals, in Iowa City, Iowa. A visitation was from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3 at Garland Funeral Home, in Walnut. The funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 4 at First Christian Church in Walnut. Pastor Brian Moore officiated. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial fund has been established in his memory.

Ritchie was born Dec. 31, 1955, in Princeton, the son of Harley and Betty (Hotchkiss) Jensen. He married Debra Sawyers on June 2, 1973, in Walnut.

Ritchie was an operations specialist for Bituminous Insurance for 15 years. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and attending dirt track stock car racing at various different tracks. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Deb, of Atkinson; two sons, Christopher (Jessica) Jensen, of Burrton, Kan.; and Ritchie (Amber) Jensen, of Villa Grove; his mother, Betty, of Mineral; his step-mother, Karen Jensen, of Walnut; brothers, Donald Hotchkiss, of Mineral; Jerry Jensen, of Princeton; and Bobby Stern, of Walnut; and three grandchildren, Brock, Addie and Alex Jensen. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Terry.
