The sixth-annual Jackie English Demolition Derby fundraiser will take place Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Henry County Fairgrounds, in Cambridge.

The sixth-annual Jackie English Demolition Derby fundraiser will take place Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Henry County Fairgrounds, in Cambridge.

The day features an array of activities including a 5K run/walk, a vendor/craft show, a bags tournament, live auction, food stands, children’s activities, raffle drawings and more. Live music will be provided by Paddy Sloan.

The event started in 2012 as a way to raise funds for English, who is battling the genetic condition Antitrypsin Deficiency, better known as Alpha-1.

The 5K run/walk will start at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 and proceeds from the event will benefit Alpha-1 awareness.

At 4 p.m., children are invited to participate in a power-wheel demolition derby.

The main event demolition derby evening will start at 5 p.m. and feature rookie/powder puff, small car, open wire, wire patch, 80s and newer and mini van classes.
