Lynne E. Lorr, 75, of St. Johnsbury, Vt., formerly of Geneseo, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended and valiant battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 at the family home in St. Johnsbury. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to a worthy pet or animal charity of the donor’s choosing in honor of Lynne. Pearson’s Funeral Home, of Lyndonville, Vt., is in charge of arrangements.

Lynne was born July 27, 1942, the daughter of Frank and June (Shearer) Kempfer. She grew up in Chicago and was a graduate of Northern Illinois University.

In earlier years, Lynne was an English teacher for the Chicago City School System. She was a homemaker and, in later years, was an activities director at The Alpine Fireside senior residence, in Rockford. She loved horses and pets, including dogs and cats; decorating; flower gardening and fairies; poetry; reading and nature photography.

Survivors include her husband, Joel F. Lorr, of Beaverton, Ore.; two sons, John (Trish) Lorr, of Seattle, Wash.; and Frank Lorr, of Beaverton, Ore; a daughter, Holly (Scot) Stone, of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; three grandchildren, Jack Lorr, Brette Stone and Shelley Stone; and close friend, Bonnie Dubner, of Winter Park, Fla.
